ILOMOCA rolls out Month-Long Celebration of Iloilo Charter Day

This August, the Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art is celebrating Ilonggo creativity through workshops by and for Ilonggo artists.

ILOILO CITY - The Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art, as an art center that upholds learning aims to engage with a wider audience in the community to celebrate Iloilo City's Charter Day with a month full of workshops, concerts, and talks open to the public when they visit the museum. ILOMOCA will highlight Ilonggo creativity with workshops and sessions to be conducted by Ilonggo artists.

Life Drawing at The Box | Aug 3
Figure Drawing session will be held at The Box with artists and students learning to draw the human
anatomy as well as gestures and movements. Come join this live drawing session with your fellow
Ilonggos. Registration fee of P700.

Learning Digital Drawing | Aug 10
This workshop will be facilitated by Goldberg Villanueva, a freelance graphic artist for 10 years and has
worked for clients both locally and abroad, who will give useful tips, especially for beginners. His projects
include comics and graphics design. Registration fee is P100.

Scapes: Watercolor Workshop | Aug 17
Wilfredo Calderon will teach the audience basic techniques in watercolor painting, also to beginners. He has been a watercolorist for 30 years and is a member of the prestigious The Singapore Watercolour Society as well as Siningapor - a group of Filipino based in Singapore.

Jovita Fuentes, Jose Contreras Music Institute Concert | Aug 21-24
The celebration continues with music from the faculty of the first Jovita Fuentes and Jose Contreras
Music Institute who will perform classical pieces, with the theme “Linking the Art of German lied andmFilipino Kundiman”, in partnership with the University of San Agustin.

Iloilo Charter Day | Aug 25
In celebration of the Iloilo City’s 82nd Charter Day, the entrance fee to the museum will be waived for Iloilo City residents who will present their IDs reflecting Iloilo City as their address. ILOMOCA’s Gallery 1 is home to artworks by artists with Ilonggo roots; a must-view for Ilonggos.
