Filipino-owned Philippine Bottling Beverage Launches Banahaw Spring Purified Water

MANILA, Philippines -- - Filipino-owned company Philippine Bottling Beverage (PBB), a new player in the purified water and non-carbonated drinks industry, has launched Banahaw Spring Purified Water at a well-attended media event on April 16 at the Manila House Private Club in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

According to Thor Jourdan Mutuc, Business Development Manager at PBB, the company brought one of the latest European technologies to ensure that the production process upholds international standards and quality. “Our production facility located at the foot of Mount Banahaw in San Pablo, Laguna is at par with world standards, fully automated and requires minimal human intervention preserving only the essential natural qualities of the water from the mountain,” said Mutuc.

Revealing that it took three years of research and testing before Banahaw Spring Purified Water has been finally released to the local market, Mutuc further emphasized the intricate process of producing the country’s first purified water to have been named after its source.

“Today, we are sharing with you a purified water product harnessed from sustainable natural sources and bottled with care to ensure you get only safe and quality purified water we Filipinos can be proud of,” he added.

Known for its pristine and lush rainforests, Mount Banahaw also serves as watershed for the provinces of Laguna and Quezon. The water from this vast mountain area is the source of these two provinces’ supply, which are used for domestic, agricultural, and industrial purposes. Acknowledging the importance of Mount Banahaw, PBB also ensures it takes care of the rural community, where it belongs, and advocates strict compliance of environmental standards in its operation.

“Water sustainability is the most significant aspect of our business,” Mutuc explained, “Beyond careful usage of water, we are putting in place measures that are geared towards protecting forests that nurture groundwater and contribute to the healthy circulation of water in nature.”

Banahaw Spring Purified Water is available in 350ml, 500ml, and one liter bottles. Aside from being free of Bisphenol A (BPA-free), each bottle is design- engineered to support core handgrip. For more information about Banahaw Spring Purified Water, visit thepbb.com.

Globe supports 2 grade schoolers representing PH at Robotics World Championships

Globe Telecom is supporting two grade school students from Xavier School who will represent the Philippines at the VEX Robotics 2018 World Championships on April 29 to May 1, 2018 in Louisville, Kentucky. Ten year-old Sebastian Silva and eight year-old brother Miguel Silva will pit their creation named “Kilva” against other robots around the world under the VEX IQ Elementary Division of the competition.

Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu said that the company will continue to support the youth with potential to bring recognition to the country. “We are proud with what the two young boys have achieved so far. They already managed to bring the country on the world stage in the fields of robotics,” Cu said.

The VEX Robotics World Championships was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the World’s Largest Robotics Competition with 1,600 teams from 40 countries.

The two Xavier grade-schoolers made their presence felt at the RoboRumble Vex Robotics tournament hosted by International School Manila last year where Kelva ran faster than other robots in the competition due to the innovation of the gear changing ratio they applied.

After powering the Eala siblings, Alex and Miko, to a number of successful world exposure in youth tennis including the upcoming French Open,  the Silva brothers are the second youth team that Globe is supporting that made it to the global stage.

IloiloCity --- Allianz PNB Life, the world's number one insurer, has announced the opening of its Iloilo Regional Business Centerand the opening of two LifeTrack stations in Philippine National Bank branches here.

Dr. Olaf Kliesow, Allianz PNB Life president and chief executive officer, made the announcement during a press conference this week at the SEDA Hotel. “We have opened our agency office this morning. We also have two new LifeTrack stations in PNB branches here,” he revealed.

According to Dr. Kliesow, Iloilo is the birthplace of the Allianz agency channel, which actually started last year, making the province strategic to its expansion in the rest of Visayas.

“The LifeTrack Station allows us to be more accessible, to provide our customers with the financial advice, guidance, and support that they need at every life stage,” he said, adding that, “The goal of these stations would be to help customers identify the barriers that keep them from making smarter, more sustainable financial decision, guiding them through the process of selecting a financial solution that would best meet their needs, and checking in with them to ensure that their goals stay on track. We hope that Filipinos would see the LifeTrack stations as an essential stop on their journey to financial independence and well being.”

Likewise, Allianz is also ranked number one insurer in the Dow Jones global sustainability index.

Prior to his appointment to the Philippines, Dr. Kliesow was Allianz SE, Head of Global Life and Health Business Development from 2013 to 2016. He also served as Chairman and CEO from 2010 to 2013 of Allianz Life Japan.

He studied Law at the University of Bonn, Germany from 1986 to 1990. He completed his Doctorate at the University of Münster, Germany and graduated summa cum laude in 2000. He earned his diploma in Economics at St. Gallen Management Institute, Switzerland in 2009.
